Chiropractic Care

I provide non-traditional Chiropractic care meaning that I use of a blend of body work AND movement to support the best outcomes for my patients. Body work can enhance blood flow, reduce trigger points and release fascial adhesions while proper movement can increase mobility and strength within the body.

I work primarily with the perinatal population. I have a passion for serving those who want to optimize their pregnancy as well as prepare for childbirth. I work with a range of patients-those experiencing discomfort as well as those who want to prevent discomfort and prepare for delivery. Receiving care during pregnancy can enhance your delivery experience as well as help to prepare your body for the postpartum period.

I work with infants in their first year of life through gentle body work. My goal is to help babies become more comfortable in their bodies. Babies tend to have a preferred position while in the womb (especially toward the 3rd trimester) and this can lead to tightness throughout the body after birth. This tension can cause digestive upset, colic, trouble latching, etc. By helping babies to “unwind” their tissue, they become more comfortable and can eat, sleep and poop more comfortably and efficiently.

I also provide care to youth athletes whether they are navigating an acute injury or an overuse type injury. I do not believe that our youth athletes need A TON of care-a little bit can go a very long way in the prevention as well as recovery of an injury. Treatment involves an assessment, muscle work as well as simple rehab exercises that can be used to strengthen the body. I LOVE sports and thinks they can be such an opportunity for growth in our children.

FAQs

When should I schedule my first session during pregnancy?

You can begin care the day you find out you are pregnant! The type of care that I offer is safe and effective at all stages from preconception through postpartum. Even if you are not experiencing discomfort, I use our first session together to teach you movements and practices to help your body feel strong and healthy through each trimester.

Do you take insurance?

I do not take insurance but I am able to provide a Superbill at each visit that you can then submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.

How many sessions will I need?

This is very patient-dependent. I provide recommendations and it is always up to the patient to see what feels best for them. For those who are not experiencing a complaint during pregnancy, I recommend 1 session every 4-6 weeks until about 32 weeks. At that time, I recommend a session every 2-3 weeks and then 1-2 sessions right before delivery. This is a very general recommendation and changes from patient to patient.

**Even just one session (at any point during your pregnancy) can be extremely beneficial in preparing for delivery.

Do you provide care during labor?

I do offer this type of service on occasion (to established patients only) for those who are delivering at home.

Do you work with breech babies?

I have training that allows me to feel confident in working with mothers with breech babies. These sessions are focused on assessing the pelvis and mobilizing it in a way that allows as much space as possible to give baby the opportunity to shift. I do NOT directly work with the baby in any way during these sessions. While I do not guarantee any outcomes, the work that I do can be quite effective.

Do you work with patients who are not pregnant/recently postpartum?

I do! I work with women of all ages and stages as well as infants and youth athletes.
