My Fall Harvest

This is my first harvest since becoming a homeowner this past June and it feels like such an accomplishment. I am planning my garden for the spring and this gave me a little boost of confidence. I had planned to plant wildflowers over our drain field but we were told not to plant anything there. I was pretty bummed so I decided to pull everything up in the front garden beds that were there when we purchased the house and I made that my wildflower home. I bought random packs of zinnia and sunflower seeds from Johnny's Select Seeds and literally just threw them on the ground and covered them with a thin layer of soil. I wasn't confident anything would grow, but I now have 2 beds filled with wildflowers and sunflowers. I may be a bit more deliberate next time now that I know I have the potential to grow things!

I learn best by trial and error. Following instructions for planting can feel so overwhelming to me. I am the same way with my house plants. If they don't seem to be doing well, I move them to a new location or change the way I water them and I simply observe if they make any improvements. It helps me to tune in and feel one with my plant babes!! :)
